Protrusion on beak

One of my RIR hens is growing what appears to be a horn on the top of her beak. It looks like a unicorn or rhino horn. It is small but is continuing to grow. One day I noticed it was bleeding. It looked like it might have gotton knocked loose. But since then, it has continued to grow. She seems to be fine other wise.
What could this be? Any ideas?
