For the past 5 years my wife and I have traveled all over South America building chicken coops for poor communities. In January we returned to a village in Paraguay and saw that 75 percent of the families still had their chickens. One of the village members asked me a question about raising chickens. I had no idea how to answer him, I had never raised chickens on my own before. When we got home in April I went out and purchased 12 chicks, I have been on this site almost daily and am so addicted to my chickens that i cant believe it took me so long to do this. So here I am a new member of BYC.
