I currently work at a zoo right now and i am 19. so i basically have my dream job already. its a great place to work and its a county job too so what else could i ask for? i know.. educated employees haha. we tried hatching chickens/pheasants/turkeys/guinea hens last batch of eggs and we only had two hatch. my fellow employees proceeded to mix all those eggs in the incubator regardless of the fact that they need to stop turning 3 days before they hatch and they all have different hatching dates. DUHH. so instead we had about 50 dead chicks in the eggs fully formed.. just dead. so i took that as the turning problem. so this time i said im in charge of this, no one touch it but me. so here we are day 20 and i already have 15 chicks out and hatched. plenty more pips and zips are going on too! just goes to show you that you may have more experience at the job but that doesnt mean the young ones dont know what there talking about! lol :-D

heres a pic of some of them. MORE TO COME !!!

Good for you-you're right, age doesn't always mean wisdom. Just remember to be respectful regardless!

for more successful hatches in your future!

Congrats on your hatch. Keep doing what you know and let your actions not your words show those that need to see it what kind of a job you can do. People will notice. Those same folks will notice others faults so you don't need to point them out to them. Keep doing what your doing and set a goal for what you want to do and go for it. Your enthusiasm keeps us folks with 4's and above as the first number in thier age young!! Enjoyed your post very much. Good luck to you. Keystonepaul

Anyone, any age, who bothers to study and learn a thing, will be better at it than anyone else who does not bother.

At fourteen my daughter was a better dog trainer than most adults ever get to be.

Age has nothing to do with it. Bothering to learn a thing does.

And while older adults may not actually know everything, they still do deserve respect.

What you do learn over time if you're paying attention, is that WHAT YOU don't KNOW is always bigger, than what you do. And smart people keep learning their entire lives. And dumb people don't. Associate with people who continue to study and learn, avoid those who don't and it all goes better.

Remember you can have one year of experience - 30 times. Or thirty years of experience and they are not the same.

I've met both kinds of people.
