We have mostly coyotes, fox. Bobcats, coons, possum, hawks, eagles and owls. There are bears and panthers but I haven't seen any around here. A neighbor told me awhile back that a friend of hers who lives in the area lost some birds to a cougar, but I don't think so. Probably a bobcat.

Guess who was back sitting next to the chicken run this morning waiting for his chick-fil-a order. Two deaths later my chickens seem to finally be weary and staying away from the sides of the run.

with the wrong wire size seperating them even larger chickens will kill chicks when they poke their head through .. if theres more than one hawk they'll even play a game with that with one scaring them over next to the wire where the other one is waiting lol, seen it before .. unfortunately its not cheap but i'd get the large size ~200$ roll of 1/2" hardware cloth, a box of screws and fender washers and make it happen ...

They are there, you just haven't seen them. Florida has 3 species of mustelids of which the long-tailed weasel and American mink are of concern. Florida has always been in their native range.

I hadn't seen mink where I live for over 60 years, then in the course of a week, mink massacred $4,000 worth of my chickens.
