It's impossible to get in my area (both from Tractor Supply and Agway). It looks like they either changed suppliers or decided to cut the flakes differently, but every bag we've tried has an unacceptable amount of fines (like over 50%). The smallest bits end up mixing with whatever food gets beaked out, and my chicks were gorging themselves on it.

Just something to be aware of, especially if you're in the New England area. We switched to hemp.

Where do you get your hemp bedding?

I buy aspen shavings from Petco as they're the biggest flakes I can find - probably not cost efficient if you need a lot, but I only use it sparingly.
I'll check it out next time I'm there. They're still trying to eat the hemp after almost five days :)he) and will eventually grow big enough to do so. This might be able to bring the gap until they go outside.

I've tried a few brands, and Eaton Pet & Pasture is the only one I've found that's actually worth the cost. The pieces are very consistent and I haven't found a single clump of fibers (which can wrap around their toes or become impacted in their crops). It is pricier than shavings, but works so much better on poop and water drippings. Downside is they kick SO MUCH OF IT into their food 🤬
