You must be new to the real world....

or have the luxury of living in an area with very low cat population....

the difference between feral and wild... feral=born in the wild, wild=domesticated but abandoned and forced to fend for itself.....

the later will have a chance to be rehabilitated, the previous, not unless it's still a kitten....

Shoot the feral... that is the stance of our local RSPCA (royal society for the prevention of animal cruelty) as some will inflict severe damage to themselves trying to escape their cages....

and no....... you really need to compare apples with apples... shoot the homeless person for breaking into your property and rob your house and family.. not for begging...

Hope that's clear enough.

When I worked at the Humane Society we refused to take feral cats. TOO DANGEROUS, the would rip you from limb to limb trying to get away. I agree it is much more humane to shot them with clean head shot

I work in animal rescue, have all of my adult life. I have also worked with feral cats for around 20 years. Unfortunately, sometimes there are no good options. You did the most humane thing you could, probably more than most people would have. And yes, to take it to a vet was quite compassionate of you. I applaud you. There are other ways it could have been handled, easier ways, and you chose the most humane. Thank you. Please do not feel any guilt. You should pat yourself on the back for caring for something that was killing your chickens. Not everyone can do that.
