This morning my lead rooster Puff daddy woke up with a ... bad attitude let's say. He trapped one of the GLW pullets against the fence and started punishing her. She was shrieking and complaining as he continued to bite her. At 16 weeks I don't think she was ready for him but she couldn't get away. So I chased him off with a stick and she ran into some tall grass where he followed and repeated his performance.
I said that's it, Puff. I'm putting you in jail and that's what I did. I'm considering my options. now. Meanwhile My EE cockerel Rusty is getting a bit of a break from Puff Daddy too. I saw him crowing for the first time this morning shortly after his older rival went to the hoosegow.
Rusty: you can see he's missing a few saddle feathers but he seems to be pretty good at evading Puff usually.
