Puffed up, droopy tail, vent looks weird.

Her vent is opening and closing. Is she egg-bound? How can I tell? I took her to the nest but she didn't want to go in. She is vaccinated. She is walking slowly. What do I do?!
I Tried feeling her for eggs but I don't know where to feel and the fluff makes it difficult.
Please help

Their vents pulsate if you look closely, which is normal.

The vent always "pulses".
You feel for an egg by gently inserting your finger into her vent up about an inch.
She doesn't have a penguin stance and that's a good sign.
How old is she?
What supplemental calcium do you have out for the flock?

She is just over a year old. She laid yesterday. She is just walking around slowly then stops for a bit.

She's not like a penguin. They have layers pellets and oyster shell

If you think she is egg bound you could try a warm bath soak and/or some vaseline in the vent. Does she look distressed?

Otherwise I'd watch and wait. If she laid yesterday it's not necessarily bad yet.

She doesn't look in pain or anything like that. If she is still acting weird tomorrow I will try the bath.
Maybe she is trying to get a soft shelled egg out?

I would give her 1/2 of a 600 mg tablet of calcium with vitamin D daily for a week. She may have a soft shell egg she is trying to pass. The calcium will help with the contractions. The calcium will not hurt a laying hen.
Stop putting her at the nest box. When she's ready, she'll go in on her own. Monitor her, yes. Just don't interfere with her too much. It can stress them further.
