Right?If you don't want to insert your finger up her vent (I can understand why -- it's a very weird experience, but it would be good to get used to it), then you can also gently feel her abdomen. Gently squeeze it between your hand and gradually massage backwards, away from her vent and towards her legs.

To feel for an egg you need to use your finger. Glove up if you are that bothered by it but it is something that every chicken caretaker should become familiar with. I personally just use my clean bare hands then double wash and sanitize when I'm completely finished working on a bird.
They don't let you. You need to bring them to a quiet place, restrain them and gently feel inside for the egg.Yesterday she was completely normal.
