Puffy foot?

I can't remember if both feet look like this but if so then one is much more poofy. Could be wrong but i don't think the brown stuff is scabs or anything, though maybe it was a poop stain or something I dunno. Any thoughts? I could have my kid catch her again for a further inspection once know what I'm looking for

What does the top of her feet and the scales of her legs look like?
I do see a small spot that may be Bumblefoot. Is she limping or having a hard time getting around?

I would take a look at her foot again, since the area is small, but the foot is puffy, I'd first try a non-surgical approach to treat the foot. A lot of people find this to be very effective.

Thank you, we'll try to catch her tomorrow and take more pics. All the other birds have small skinny feet so something must be wrong. Maybe washing them wilp produce better pics

Yes, the spot is there. I'd work on soaking it and see if that plug will eventually pull out, see if there's infection or maybe she got something stuck in the foot.

Thanks, I'll see what I can do. It's absolutely our most skiddish bird. You even look at her and she starts looking every where and running. My kid can catch her sometimes so we'll see what we can do.

Easiest way to catch them when they are that skittish is wait until their roosting, then grab them. (At night or early morning)
Less stress on them (and me!) to not have to chase them. You've got a kid, so it's probably not too bad, but one old hen bumbling and stumbling around to catch another old hen is not my idea of fun

Haven't had much luck catching her yet. But I dont fit inside her coop and when they see my hand coming they flip out anyway

Hi OP, I'm dealing with a similar issue. One of my Azure layers was limping yesterday. Best way to catch is with a towel, just toss it over them and they freeze.

I've given her two soaks, use a hair dryer to dry her, she likes that.

I have her in the brood cage. She isn't eating or drinking at all. That worries me. And she just sits.

I cleaned her feet. One foot is def more swollen in that area where a bumble would be. But it does not look pronounced. I will check again for a bumble spot.

But its her demeanor that concerns me. Is this common for a chicken with early stage bumble to not eat?

She can not walk on the foot, that is clear. But she did eat yesterday at the common feeder. Had her in over night and she is still in.
