Pugs..And some pics (:

I used to have one she died of old age and heart problems in my arms on the way to the vets, broke my heart. She was an awesome dog. After she died it was hard to get used to sleeping in a quiet bedroom (no snorting or snoring). We haven't gotten another pug again, but just b/c we have rescued other breeds along the way. I would get another one in a heart beat (if we didn't already have 3 dogs)

Also Pugs are one of my FAVORITE small dogs, such wonderful personalities.

I greatly enjoyed all the pictures.

I have a love-hate relationship with pugs. I love their personalities! Most of them are absolute sweethearts and so happy about everything, just a joy to be around. But I hate the health issues that are common in the breed (and many other short faced breeds). The skin issues, allergies, bad hips, stenotic nares, dental issues from their abnormal bite, eyes that are more prone to injury because of their location on the skull...the snoring. OMG, I couldn't live with the snoring! We have one pug at work who has had chronic health problems his whole life. He's always had bad allergies, but the past few years they have gotten to the point where he's rubbed almost all the hair off his face and sometimes scratches deep gouges from itching so much. Just a few weeks ago, we diagnosed him with diabetes. We were all afraid that his owner would opt to euthanize him because it just seemed so overwhelming to add diabetes to his already long list of medical issues that needed treatment on a daily basis (and with two young kids in the house that's no small feat to find the time to do it all). And we were all so very happy that they were up to the challenge of treating his diabetes because he is one of the best dogs any of us have ever known. I love working with pugs and I love visiting with them, but I just can't see myself living with one.

I have a rescue pug girl that looks to be about a month pregnant. A poultry friend of mine called me that someone at work wanted to get rid of her right away. Their kid had left home and left them with her two pugs, a boy and a girl. They wanted them gone or they were going to the pound. I picked them up and quarantined them for a couple weeks because of where they came from, but they seemed healthy and happy and well adjusted. I placed the male a few weeks ago. Had the female on my lap last week and said to myself... hmmmmmmm.... suspicious small bulge down there..... this week it is bigger. Shewwt! Don't know any history on either parents, or if they are brother and sister or what. No hablo Ingles where they came from, and they didnt seem to want to make any spanglish small talk when I picked up the dogs. Guess we will wing it. At least my vet is close and C-sections are relatively inexpensive there if she needs one. Whoopte doo... (not)

More in the Winter than Summer. Anyone now why? And does anyone know how to get rid of her stinkiness? lol When I give her a bath she smells a ton better but only for a couple days and I think that might be because of her ears.

She had puppies about 4 years ago. Sooo she kinda drags a little if you know what I mean..lol How do I tighten her up? I mean other than feeding her tons. She's already pretty big! :)

I have 3 pugs. Tootsie, Buttons, and Francie. Francie is the one with the problems.

Tomorrow I will scan a picture I have of them :) Haha, this is Tootsie dressed up as a baby as you can see

Try quadra clear. When treating, wash the sweaters and bedding every day too. Could be ear mites. Or yeast infection. Or dog food sensitivities. Or just a little bit infected. Good luck clearing it up. If you only do a little bit, they/it will come back. Be thorough.

Huh.. Maybe she rolls in chicken turds? My dogs love to roll in garbage

My Chloe tightened up after her milk dried up. I would just say feed her good food and nothing else. I of course give Chloe any veggies she wants. She LOVES carrots, but her favourite, above everything (even meat) is asparagus. She is crazy. What a weird appetite on that girl
