Hi everyone!
I have a Chicken who is limping. A few weeks ago and occasionally when she gets off the perch in the morning, she would sit down or stand on one leg. After a while, it got better. I thought perhaps maybe her foot was asleep, so to speak.

It seemed to clear up, however, yesterday, after she did a dust bath, she just stood there on one leg. Since then she has been limping off and on.

I checked her foot, claws, leg, etc. but have found nothing. When I touch her, she does not seem to be bothered and there is no blood or obvious injury.

Could she have literally pulled a muscle?
Hoping I’m just overthinking things again! 😆

It's possible she pulled a muscle or has a sprain.

If the bird is able to move about, limits her activity on her own and is eating/drinking well, then I usually just monitor them.

If there's concern that she is worsening, is being bullied or you feel her activity needs to be very restricted, then cage her for a couple of days with food/water.

Great! I was heading that way in my thoughts but wondered if I was guessing wrong. She’s still slow but she is the head of the flock and no one seems to have noticed yet.
