Pullet acting like a rooster

Buff Orpington. And she is bigger than the rest of my chickens - including the rooster. The rooster is a RIR and she also lives with a barred rock and a runty looking EE.

Hmm, now I just saw Buttercup (the BO in question) and the EE stare each other down and fluff their feathers. And I almost never see my chickens interact - they are like toddlers doing parralel play. I just can't figure out the dynamics - can't figure out who is in charge.

Hmm, Stacey I am going to see if I can get one of the BO experts to take a look for ya.
The head tells me cockerel, but the body says pullet.

Looks like a pullet at 17 weeks, comb would be alot larger by that age if it was a cockerel and Buff Orpington for sure. Sometimes those girls can have that leave me alone mean look

Whew! I'm so relieved to hear that from the experts. After my unexpected RIR rooster I'm paranoid.
The women in my house aren't exactly shrinking violets so she will fit right in.

Lol... you've stumped me. That certainly looks like a pullet. It's not unheard-of for this kind of behavior to occur... just keep an eye out and see what happens!
