18 week old red sex link, started laying about a week ago. Her first egg was VERY soft. Have gotten a couple since then that I suspect were from her. Fast forward to today..let them out of the run when I got home and she was acting like she did the first evening she laid. Very quiet, still..not foraging, etc. She was like that for a couple hours. I put them back in the run a little while ago and she finally squeezed out another very soft egg..now here's the weird part..she's still acting like she does when she lays..very still and quiet and it looks, for lack of a better description, like shes having contractions. Could she be trying to lay another? Like maybe she had one backed up and didnt lay it before the next one started forming?

Sex links are notorious for releasing multiple ovum. Sometimes they end up as double yolk eggs, and sometimes as eggs without shells because they can't apply the shell to two eggs at the same time.

Eggs without shells can be harder to get out, and they can cause a prolapse in some, so keep an eye on her.

She just dropped a complete yolk with a membrane around it about an hour after the soft shelled egg.
