Pullet Attacked by Dog - not using right foot

Hey, that's awesome! Unless she looks like she'll seriously hurt herself, I'd let her move around as she likes. I see what you meant now by her foot being to one side...that is a strange position. But, if she's moving around, her foot might be ok :fl.

Also, if she's been losing feathers since the dog grabbed her, that's normal. Chickens have a safety mechanism so that, when attacked, their feathers will become loosened on their body. That way, the predator gets a mouth-full of feathers and not them.

So glad that she is moving around. You will be the best to judge if you should let her do what she feels like or try the sling chair. If a fracture or sprain is present, those can take several weeks to heal. She may want to spend time with some friends, and a wire dog crate with food and water is a safe way. Chickens sometimes will suddenly go into a molt, losing feathers, after a sudden stress. My hen did after being roughed up and chased by a neighbor’s dog. Let us know how she progresses and good luck.
