I absolutely love aunties! Best guardian dog I ever had was an aussie.
I think your birds are just teenagers and this sparing thing is just a phase.
It should pass soon. I also think your cheeky bird is a hen.

Maybe I'm overthinking it here but personally I would just keep my dog away from my chickens. Dogs are predator animals, and with the behavior from your pullet, he may lash out and end up hurting her.

It is very situation based. I've got a dog with high prey drive who can now be with the chickens unsupervised. My roosters do attack him and he does try to correct him. I've got enough trust in him to still leave him by himself with them at times. Again, it is situation based on depends on the dogs and the chickens.

I hear you! I think it's up to the individual. My dog absolutely loves going out to check on the chickens with me. He's an older gentleman and I'd never take that away from him unless I worried he would be harmed. Every dog (just like every chicken) is an individual.

It just turns out I have an attack chicken and a sweet dog.
