Pullet? Breed?

This is a chick that hatched here four weeks ago. It is a RIRxBO,
BO X dominique, or BO x barred hen (unk breed). Is it a cockerel or a pullet and what cross do you think it is? Oh it could also be purebred BO.

It has some black in the wings, so it is more than likely not a pure BO. It is young to tell what sex, but looks boyish to me.

He looks boyish to me too, but I have no experience sexing chickens.

Its definately not a BO x RIR. Had one - he was alot darker and had red on him.


I would say either of the other two, with the white on the feathers...


And, to me he looks boy-ish, but give it more time to see if he or she turns the other way

I would say it's either a pure BO ('lower' quality BO can have black in the wings or tail) or a RIR/BO cross. RIR chicks get some black spotting on their wings before they get their 'big bird' feathers.

It looks to have yellow legs, which would rule out pure BO.

So probably a RIR/ BO cockerel???
