Pullet cannot fully open mouth

Glad to hear you are onboard with tube feeding. It's a good way to get some quick nourishment into a sick chicken. I don't usually tube feed for more than two days in a row, though. I've found that tube feeding can hinder natural hunger signals and a chicken can get dependent on being tubed.

Positive Tuesday update. We ended up tube feeding her again last night, her crop was empty when I got home from work. This morning I gave her the amoxicillin and skipped her morning ear cleaning since I’m only going to do it once a day. This morning after meds and putting wet food down for everyone she started eating. Not her normal careful peck but a peck with meaning, so I was hopeful. This evening after coming home from work I picked her up and she had about a golf ball size amount of food in her crop! So we cleaned and packed ears and started another days worth of amoxicillin.
