Our 10 week old buff orpington pullet went from limping to cannot walk on her right leg. My husband doesn't want to take her to the vet because she's "just a chicken." Does anyone know of an INEXPENSIVE VET or someone experienced w/chicken injuries in Ventura County?

Can't help you with a vet, but have you looked at her leg? Could she have a cut under her foot? Is the leg swollen around the joints? She might have flown off a perch and twisted or dislocated something. If you find a cut, wash it with water, disinfect it with betadine or hydrogen peroxide, apply neosporin. Bandage it if it's under the foot.

Try and call your state of agriculture local office and see if they have a list of poultry vets. Sometimes they do.
