pullet died suddenly

When they get to bright green poop, and die, it's not a sudden death. She's probably been wasting away for some time. It may go on for a few months. And they act normal. But at the end they are tired and nap alot . Lethargic. I would check your other hen by feeling her keel. Is it prominent? Or is there some fat around it?

I think she's skinnier than I want her to be; there could be more meat around her keel. I've watched her closely for the last two days and she eats, but not as much as I want her to. I tried giving her some scrambled egg, she's ok with it but only eats a little. She didn't even attempt the plain yogurt but I wasn't too surprised by that. She's always been afraid of the mealworms I toss in (she only used to eat them if the other hen ate them). My next guess would be to try switching the feed I give her.

She still has normal behavior, drinks lots, wanders around and scratches and has normal poop. I started adding some amprolium to her water yesterday, just in case since it doesn't hurt either way.

I'm thinking she's fine right now, but maybe she needs a buddy to teach her how to eat more often or something. She was the follower before for sure. So I'm going to go look for a similar aged hen to keep her company and hopefully get her spirits up.

Good idea to get someone to keep her company. Chickens do become depressed if alone. The only issue you will have, is always quarantine new chicks, that way you will not have any surprise medical issues contaminate your flock/other girl.

An update for anyone who is interested: I have since decided my hen died of dehydration problems due to our weird weather. I had changed the orientation of the food and water dishes around after the hen died and my remaining chicken drank all the water within an hour; it was quite surprising. I talked to the guy at the feed store and he said several people have come in with complaints about chicken deaths related to the weather so I figured I had the same problem.

The addition of a new slightly younger hen has increased the food consumption of my lonely girl. So I think things are going back to normal now.

Thanks for the advice all!

Thanks for updating. But sorry she died.
