for fun I breed chickens
you know it all starts with that 1 accidental Rooster and an incubator lol. Anyways I have a Black Australorp that is 11 months old. She started laying around 5 months old and her egg size has not changed. Still small pullet size for an awfully big chick! Note that I do add additional lighting in my coop so even though it’s winter I still get eggs. Other hens I have that are her age the egg has already started getting larger. I know they say 4 weeks for pullet eggs but my hens always took longer but not THIS LONG. Usually a good 2-3 months. Any ideas or same situations? Thank you!! Added a picture of Pepper my black eyed beauty for ya.
