I hope this does not sound stupid!!. I have quite a few young pullets that are starting to lay, my black australope eggs seem big, but the red/black sex links, golden comets and RIR's are medium small. the condition of the shells are very good, my question is will the eggs get bigger as the pullets age ??. when do I begin to call these pullets hens, at what age ?.

They definitely get bigger. My first egg was about half the size of the ones I get now from my girl who has been laying about 1.5mos. I have heard that after their first molt, they get even bigger, but I'm not 100% sure on that. A pullet becomes a hen when she is over a year old.
