Pullet eggs... When do you start using eggs as hatching eggs?

How long do you wait? The parent birds hatched in May '10.

They're looking pretty good to me. I'm more concerned about egg size.

It all depends on what you are selecting for.

For my purposes survivability and persistence of lay are important so I don't hatch from anything that hasn't completed one full laying cycle. If they're going to stop laying in August I don't want them. If they wait until November to molt and have laid well until then then I probably want to breed them.

If you just want them to meet an appearance and size standard then you could start hatching as soon as the eggs are full sized.

It's all a matter of what you are selecting for.
