Pullet has black combs and feet even though her parents doesn't.

Her mother is a cross between a barred rock and RIR, father is a cross between light sussex and a barred rock. Genetics is weird.

These are her parents. They were given to us by a local breeder because they don't like to keep cross breeds. Apparently because mutts only live for about 1.5-3 years, hens pump eggs like crazy tho.

Could be "gypsy face".

I've got a lovely blue pullet with that condition. She's so dark that I named her "Charcoal".

Her face and comb reddened up when she hit POL.
Charcoal, that's an appropriate name hahaha. I am hoping this is just a genetic condition and not a disease. She's very lively and loves to explore the chicken run so I have high hopes for her.

I am almost positive this is not a disease. I had a hen with a completely black face and comb as well. It reddened up when she his POL. but is still not cherry red like my other birds. She is three years old now.
