Charcoal, that's an appropriate name hahaha. I am hoping this is just a genetic condition and not a disease. She's very lively and loves to explore the chicken run so I have high hopes for her.Could be "gypsy face".
I've got a lovely blue pullet with that condition. She's so dark that I named her "Charcoal".
Her face and comb reddened up when she hit POL.
I just posted them. I am from south east asia and there are some wild chickens with blackish comb and feet here, so maybe her parents aren't 100% what the local breeder told us to be.Can you post pics of parents?
I am almost positive this is not a disease. I had a hen with a completely black face and comb as well. It reddened up when she his POL. but is still not cherry red like my other birds. She is three years old now.Charcoal, that's an appropriate name hahaha. I am hoping this is just a genetic condition and not a disease. She's very lively and loves to explore the chicken run so I have high hopes for her.
