We have a 2-3 month old Buff Orpington that is having trouble walking. She isn't limping exactly, but seems to be walking on her "heels". When she stops, she loses her balance and ends up sitting on her bottom with her legs out in front of her. I've caught her sitting like this, and pecking at the grass. I've examined her feet and she has no sores, no scabs, no redness, and no apparent pain. It doesn't seem like her toes are gripping. She will sit on my open hand no problem, but can't grip my finger or wrist to balance.

I'm worried about her, and would appreciate any advice.

Is it possible that this is Marek's disease?

I have never seen marke's personally, so I don't really know
If you could post more info frmo the sticky in the header under emergencies you may get more answers

Maybe she is egg bound.

I think I've seen posts here where a "pigeon-toed" walk indicates eggbinding.

I know that my internal layer walks kind of slow when she's filled up with fluid and has laid internally - but not on her "heels".
