Pullet just squats and lays wherever she is

The white stuff sounds like extra calcium deposits it has happened to my girls once in a while maybe one girls is eating to much oyster shell I would use the lipstick or food coloring idea or take a morning and go sit in the run and watch who lays what egg I have done that. Spent a day outside with the girls while I was working in the yard checked the nest box after each hen to see who laid what have a pretty good idea who lays what color now. I have a few new hens so I need to spend the day doing this again. I think for my chart I will use a picture of the hen and a picture of the egg since my memory seems to be going.

good luck with your hen.

I figured out who was doing it, and she got a new home! lol I have a splash girl who is a lunatic, very skittish. whenever she sees someone she hides, always the one that wont go in at night and I have to round her up. I think she was dropped on her head as an egg... but it was her as all the others used the box. she got a new home last night, she can go be part of a larger flock where they dont care if she hides or not. she wont get to free range now though. Most of mine are calm and will come when I call them, I prefer a friendlier type chicken lol Thank You everyone for the suggestions. I will remember that lipstick one for sure!
