One of my pullets started laying about one month ago. She is an easter egger and lays a blue/green egg. She laid consistently for about a week (about 5 or 6 eggs, all normal). Then stopped, it has been about 3 weeks now since she last laid.
I'm pretty sure it isn't dietary as the others are all laying fine.

We did have a period of stress for about 2 weeks of having our roof repaired. It didn't affect her sister at all, but this one is more sensitive. Could that be the cause? It's been about a week now since the repairs finished. But not quite sure if there is any I should do to help her. She doesn't 'seem' stressed, she is acting normally. She is not lethargic or showing any negative health symptoms or behaviors at all, still eating and drinking normal, she stills 'visits' the nest box daily..

TIA for any thoughts 🙏

Is it possible she has a hidden nest?
That is what I thought at first, but we have searched the yard and not found one (we only have a fairly small yard). Unless its under some mulch or something.. I wouldn't say 100% no though. Would that be the most likely explanation? Is it possible for a pullet just to stop laying for 3 weeks like that? (many thanks for asking :)

I think stress from the construction is likely. How long has she been visiting the nest boxes? If she's been doing it for a long time I might try giving her a calcium pill just in case she's having trouble passing an egg.
Ok, thankyou. She visits each day, mostly I think to hang out near the other hens, not actually 'sitting'. I do have a bowl of free feed calcium near the boxes, do you think a pill would still be a good idea?

Okay, I would be more concerned if she was sitting or otherwise acting like she needed to lay an egg. Have you checked her crop and made sure it's filling during the day and emptying overnight?

It wouldn't hurt her at all to give her one a day for a few days. Usually it's recommended to be around 300 mg of Calcium Citrate +D3, but if you have something on hand that's close, it'd work too, just that's about the best.

Last month I had a super tall tree removed right next to the chicken coop and I was also really concerned about construction noise the chainsaws the falling trees Etc and while they were cowering and hiding in the coop the entire time the guys were there it only took a day or two for their poop consistency, behaivor and things like that to go back to normal so it could have absolutely been just a little blip from a stressful day. But I think there's a lot of good advice in the thread on supportive care through it good luck!
