My 16 week RSL has just started to lay in the past week. I think she laid one last week and she definitely laid one Sunday. This afternoon she is mopey and her back half is sort of "humped up". I isolated her in a large dog crate with shavings. I didn't see an egg protruding from her vent. I gave her bottom warm compresses and a massage which she seemed to like. A half hour later I went to check on her and there was a damp spot and it was an egg white. She still seems to feel lousy. What do you think I should do?

well my girl seems to be feeling a lot better now. I let her back in with the rest of the flock since it it getting close to their "bedtime". She ate some more and picked at the oyster shell and flew up to the roost. Hopefully we won't have any more issues with her. I was suprised how docile she was when she allowed me to tend to her. This is the first time I have had to really do something with one. I am glad I pick them up and hold them periodically.
