Pullet making drawn-out noises

My BO pullet will be turning 6 months on Feb 1st. No eggs yet, but she's been squatting perfectly (and a lot at that!) along with the other girls who haven't laid yet but have been squatting as well.

Today's been exceptionally windy (I'm in Florida) and she's making drawn out noises, kinda loud too. I'm wondering if this means she's going to lay today/tomorrow or she's just bothered by the wind?

I can try posting pictures of her to show her development and maybe take a video of her making the noises as well. c:​

She could be getting ready. Mine were pretty vocal before the first egg. Practicing I think, since they are very loud ladies. Hope your first eggs arrive soon!

It’s very exciting! I never get tired of finding new eggs And when they take their winter break and then start laying again it’s exciting all over!

I haven't gotten any eggs yet but I have 1 gal who's especially noisy and squats a lot. People have been telling me she's gonna lay soon so I think that's your case

She laid an egg today! Her very first egg. It's so small and cute UGH <3 <3
Phoebe is a Buff Orpington Pullet (5 months/25 weeks) Now I just have to wait for my EE (Also 25 weeks) and my RIR (23 weeks) to start laying. They're all currently squatting so hopefully soon!

Hurray!! First egg is so exciting! I noticed many of my flock got really loud and agitated a week to a few days before laying their first egg. I'm sure they are a bit freaked out over what was happening and feeling "weird"! The good news is they settle down and figure out it is just daily routine!
