That does not look obviously "male" to me at the moment, but of course the next few weeks could change that.

Yes, it generally is easier to tell when you have several to compare with each other, but most chicks become obviously male or female within the first few months anyway.

I don't remember how old the other one was when I fully realized that he was a he and not a she, but I know it was before he started crowing.

I don't know how long Bellatrix(BR) and Zora(the speckled sussex) had been at the store by the time we got them, but I believe they will be 3 weeks this weekend maybe. On Monday will be 3 weeks since we got them from the store though.

Female Barred Rocks typically have darkness on the front of their legs. I see that yours is dark, not pale. I vote pullet.

I've read that pullets will have dark color on their legs anywhere from light dark to dark dark and that roos tend to have little to none. She has little bit, which is one reason I'm on the fence about her(I think the roo we had also had little)

It's a pullet if truly a Barred Rock.

If male, then most likely a Black Sex-link which are often single Barred Males from crossing of RIR Rooster over Barred Rock Hen.
