I have 11 LB and they look pretty much the same except their tails. 9 of them have short tail feathers that curl downwards or barely any tail feathers. But theres 2 that have tail feathers sticking up and out. The first 2 pics of the LB Im holding has the short curled down feathers the next 2 photos of the LB Im holding has the feathers sticking out. They all look the same in the combs. They are 9 weeks old tomorrow :) Thanks for any feedback. Dee from CT.

I'm looking for the pics, but we knew our buff brahma was a roo way before he was fully feathered...

wow, where was that pic when we were trying to figure out our buffs lol. all ours ended up being pullets! I wanted at least 1 boy!
Buried in the archives from last year! lol. He was a freebie-hatchery pick, so we figured he was a rooster from early on.

What was it that told you your buff was a roo.
He was the first of all of our chicks to get a bright red comb and wattles, so we started looking for pics on the web, and then posted here on byc to confirm. Beautiful birds with a great temperament. He didn't start crowing until he was about 12 weeks old though.

Hmmm one of my LB that has no tail feathers at all has a dark mahogany comb. All the others are orangey pink. This will be interesting to see who turns out to be what. I'd like to have a roo but if not that's ok too. The buffs are very pretty.
