This chicken is about 12-14 weeks old. I have two BSL's and this one seems to have significantly more brownish in its neck chest area than the other one. Both have it, but this one has more. Wasnt sure if that meant she was a he..... Thoughts?

Awesome news! I wasn't sure. Just noticed the difference between the two BSL's I have. Glad to hear she is still a she! ha. Thanks for the advice!

BTW Black sex link is a cross so the chicks are totally sex able after hatching. That's why their called Black sex links.
The female chicks are all black and the male chicks are black with white spots on their head and stuff.
Black sex links are a cross between a Barred Plymouth Rock hen and a Rhode Island red rooster.

Well..... I guess we can all chalk this one up as a dumb question then! ha... Thanks.

It wasn't a dumb question at all! On some breeds, that subtle of a difference does mean a difference between the sexes.
Since black sex links are a hybrid, there is some variation in the amount of non-black color they sport. Then, you get into folks making their own mixes at home, when they use a buff Orpington rooster the hen is half gold/half black!

Black sex link roosters look like really poorly colored barred birds

Ignore the floppy comb, he's a homemade version. but gives you an idea what you'd have if you had a rooster.
