Hi! I'm a first time chicken keeper and am afraid that two of my 12 week old chickens might be cockerels, but I'm not sure. Any help is much appreciated!!!

This is Olly the sapphire olive egger:

Thanks everyone! That's sad news since they don't allow roosters where I live :( Olly is my husband's favorite.. How long should I wait to know for sure?

I mean you can wait as long as you'd like, but that comb at 12 weeks looks very male. You should start seeing more and more signs now. Pointy hackle and saddle feathers should start appearing and if he's not already, he should start crowing sometime soon. Mine didn't start really doing it until he was about 17 weeks old. The youngest one is now trying occasionally at 12 weeks but if I wasn't watching him I wouldn't know it because it's rare and weak as anything.

Thank you for your help! I heard a weak crowing this morning.. So I guess that's it.. Sighhhh

Olly is a cockerel. As for the blue Ameraucana, I'm also leaning towards cockerel, just more of a late bloomer. Both are very pretty birds.
