Pullet or Cockerel RIR

[Spud Chicken]

Hi this is my first time raising chickens, is this a pullet or cockerel. He/She is about 10 weeks old. Any help would be great.

It's really hard to say. It could be either way, but I'm leaning towards rooster. His crown is quite red and his wattles are showing. Those neck feathers are looking quite pointed, as well.

I think it looks like a cockrel, mine are 5 weeks old and 4 of the 6 RIR's look like that, and they are male..... I hate it though, because one of them is super nice, and all I think is "WHY CAN'T YOU BE A HEN?????'

my wife and i are thinking cockerel as well... we are torn however, because we just rescued a cockerel from a family that couldn't have one because of city ordinances, and the new cockerel is MUCH friendlier than "big Red", what to do, what to do?

Wait for a couple of weeks! Maybe he'll turn out to be a pullet.
