I have 3 month old chicks. One I know is a cockerel because he’s crowing, but I have another I’m not sure if it’s a cockerel or a pullet. I think it’s a cockerel, but my husband is swearing it’s a pullet. What do you think?! I uploaded one photo with the cockerel next to the one in question. They are both the same age. I’m not 100% on the breed of the current cockerel, but the chicken in question is an olive egger (supposedly). I bought some hatching eggs and hatched them under a broody, and some of the eggs were “mystery” eggs

I think it's a pullet :) And the breed for both the cockerel and possible pullet is a Barred Rock. Enjoy your chickens! :)

He looks to be double-barred, which means he must be a cockerel (pullets can only be single barred and are therefore darker). Next to the other dude he looks like a pullet, but at three months old, the big red comb and wattles are also a red flag. If you can only keep one boy, I would keep your current cockerel, as he has matured earlier.

After doing some more research, I think that it may be a cockerel. It's very early, and it's likely that if your other one is a cockerel, he won't crow because the other one is dominant. Watch for hackle and saddle feathers. Good luck! :)
