Pullet or cockerel ?

Not sure what breed but he/she is 5/6 weeks old and I'm wondering if it's a roo or hen . Makes call noises like a roo but I'm no expert either . So if anyone can help of appreciate it .

I am not an expert, so I cannot tell you the breed, but I am guessing some kind of mix. Don't take my word for it though! If that chicken is 5 or 6 weeks old- that is a cockerel. Very beautiful! Best wishes!

Not sure on the breed but that's a cockerel! He's very handsome!!

Open the wings. How common are the feather lengths similar to each other. If they are roughly in a straight line you probably have a too. If the feathers have half an inch or more in length differences its probably a hen. Your chicken looks like a rooster to me. The comb is reddening at such a young age.

Thanks you guys I couldn't get a good pic of him , I bought him from a co op so I don't think he is a mix . But he does make rooster noises when he finds a bug or he thinks danger is around so that's why I thought it was a roo and of course bc of his wattles and comb so large and red but I also read that hens can sometimes start to act like a roo if one isn't around .

Ok so yes he will be 7 weeks on the 7th so guess that means I have me a roo for my gals . Just wish I knew what the heck he was not sure if I want him breeding with my girls if I haven't a clue what he is .
