Pullet or Cockerel?

The barred rock blue Andalusian mix or the Buckeye.

The buckeye is definitely a cockerel, the andalusian mix is probably a cockerel.

Buckeye mix? Well hell.. it was purchased from rural King as a pure buckeye pullet. Hell!

Oops, I thought you said he was a buckeye mix. Doesn't look like a mix to me, hatchery quality, but probably not a mix.

Phew.... I was about to give up.. I have the worst luck with cockerels... Ordered 17 pullets from mypetchicken, 6 were cockerels..bought the buckeye as a Pullet, and 75% of everything I've hatched have been cockerels..

Your blue girl is gorgeous, the 'supposed to be buckeye' may be also. Doesn't have much of a comb at this age, and not seeing any obvious male feather patterns

Please don't rush to dump either one. I don't know much about Buckeyes but yours may be approaching "point of lay."

I won't dump them. That just means I'll have to get more hens...
I could never get rid of Katelyn the buckeye. Her/him and I have a bond that I don't have with my other chickens. She/him follows me everywhere. Doesn't always let me touch her, but when I'm filling water buckets, she's right there rubbing against my leg and attempting to take a shower. She's so quirky. Cockerel or Pullet, I could never let her go. Out of my 30, she's my favorite.
