I’m a new member! Hi!

Anyways, I have two adorable 7 week old Blue Ameraucanas that I had ordered from Cackle Hatchery as female chicks. I’m starting to notice some changes with the two’s growth. My darker one (whom I named Raven) is bigger, acts more dominant, and holds his/her tail up in a more roosterly fashion at times. The other day, Raven chased a poor dove out of the run that had managed to get in. The other chicks all were hiding. I guess my question is if Raven is a cockerel or a pullet?

Hi!

Welcome to BYC! Those are some beautiful chicks you got there! As of now, they both look like pullets to me. I noticed that Raven has feather tuffs on her face which is a trait that I have only ever seen in females. Some chicks may mature faster than others so she probably just can't wait to grow up and lay eggs! ;):D I also did not see male saddle feathers on either chick. They look like beautiful ladies to me!
Hope this helps!
