A friend gave me this chick due to her thinking it was a cockerel. I’ve had an EE adult hen before but not a chick or a rooster. Any idea on gender?

Hmm. . . I'm not quite sure on this one. Do you think you could get a close up on the tail, saddle feathers, and comb? The comb is kinda saying roo to me.

By the way, I have an Ameraucana roo, and he's the best boy I could ask for. He loves to be held and he takes good care of his hens. This is due to me cuddling him (when he was a chick) at every free moment I had. So just in case, give him/her a lot of love and you'll have the best rooster around!

The little stinker keeps jumping around and playing. Hope this helps.

I got this one and 2 others that she had a week ago and this one loves to snuggle into my neck. The first EE I had was older and I had gotten her from someone and she was wild and mean. I wasn’t fond of the breed but now I am. I was amazed at how quickly this one started bonding.

I'm glad he/she likes to snuggle! It seems like an EE trait, I've got a 5 week old EE right now! I saw 2 pullet factors, and two cockerel factors: Large red comb, and pointed tail feathers SCREAM roo, but I also saw rounded hackle and saddle feathers. . . This could go either way, but I'd lean more towards cockerel. Tail and comb are more accurate signs rather then hackle and saddle. How many hens do you have? And do you have a rooster?
