Pullet or Cockerel?

Hey loves!

I'm a new chicken mom, to our baby we named Milo...

About 8 weeks ago a Chicken Hawk dropped a new born chick at our feet. 🥰
The rest is history, was love at first sight.

For awhile I thought Milo was a pullet... just from the way the feathers grew.
The wings developed first, doubling the body size, and then the tail.

This week the comb has started growing quickly (I do live in a tropical climate, idk if that has something to deal with it, as we approach the hotter months🤷🏼‍♀️.)

And this morning I swear after the husband left for work at 6am the chick tried to crow, but hasnt since then.

Now I'm confused🙈.

Is Milo, our new baby, a pullet or cockerel?
Regardless the little one is completely loved.

Just curious on what others with experience (being I have none) think the sex may be?

Also not sure if Milo is a Black Australorp, or Sex Link... shoot maybe even a different breed 🤷🏼‍♀️.

Thank you for any advice, guidance and input.
Its greatly appreciated.

I say he's a cockrell, due to comb size and tail shape, but different breeds are different. My birds' tails start to grow more up when they are hens and down like that when they are young roos.

I am not an expert by any means. I would think that by now if it was a rooster, then it would have a nub on the leg that is the beginning of a spur. Or it will crow again and you will know for sure.

What a sweetie!
I don't know about pullet or too, but I can tell that Milo isn't an australorpe. We have a few and they are all black with a blue-green sheen on some of the side feathers. Milo looks a bit brown.
What a lucky chick!

I would guess a cockerel. I trust your intuition and hearing a tiny rooster sound.
