I purchased this chick along with 5 others about 4 weeks ago from tractor supply. I thought it was a barred rock but looking back at the pictures from my children picking them out I believe it is a cuckoo maran.

This little ones comb and wattle have become much larger and more pronounced in the last week compared to the other chicks. We are in a no rooster town so looking for some insight on if this is just the breed or if we indeed have a little roo. Thanks!

The comb being so big and red so early means it is probably a cockerel. You might give it another week or so to be sure, but the signs are pretty clear. It could be a Marans or maybe a black sex link cockerel.
