9 week old Australorp. All of my birds faces are starting to turn pink, but still no wattles or large combs. On thier backs are long thin feathers that look like saddle feathers to me, but I cant find any 9 week old roo pictures for reference. The tips are round but the feathers are very long. The following pics I am suspicious of, though this bird does not have large feet. They are all of the same bird.

that looks like a little lady to me.

My BA had a red comb already by that age and he had so pretty crazy tail feathers. He liked to flaunt himself because he knew he looked good :)

Yeah, Stumpy is the same age as all my others, but he has a full comb and waddle thing. But Ive read and read about all the signs. Long pointed feathers, pinking up, large combs, early waddle growth, big feet. Well my 5 only have pinking faces, 2 have big feet, one always charges me when i come in, and 3 have the long thin feathering along the back, of those three 2 of them feathered in really slowly.

Im so anxious! Ive know ive asked a few times already, but as they get older I really ahve to know because I ahve to rehome my roos before I get too attached. I dont think i could bring myself to send them to freezer camp.

Im really glad to hear this! With that tail though, I just could not tell! And this chick was the very last bird to feather out.

So what clues tell you its a pullet? Other than the comb/wattles?
