We got another egg from her today?!?

I can't really determine her age, to be quite honest. She is so beautiful, though! I have a pullet who stopped laying for about two months, and we figured out that she went through a partial moult, but it wasn't very evident. Several times she, too would seem to go up to the nest box and "think about it." Perhaps you have a similar situation!

Our girl has started laying again, and she lays bigger eggs and more of them now! She is a Brahma, so not a production breed, but she provides us with about 5 eggs per week right now.

I wish you luck with your girl! And she may be an older hen who isn't laying very fequently, also. Does she have spurs?

So here's our welsummer. We got her back in October and when we got her we thought she might have been broody. After posting some pictures of her and and asking some question we determined that she was not broody and might be molting. Well two months later we have not seen any change in her feathers. She hasn't lost many in the past month. And we have still yet to get an egg... Anyways I thought I'd post another picture to see what you guys think! Is it possible that she is still a pullet??? When feeling her pubis bones I don't think she could pass an egg. Thats one reason why we are thinking shes still young... But the thing is when you look at her she looks older... When a hen gets past her laying prim do her pubis bones come close together again??? Hopefully someone can give me their opinion!!!

Okay probably my last post for Summer but here is an up to date photo of Summer... We've been getting 2 eggs then she takes a day off so we are thinking she is a pullet! It just took her a really long time for POL.

Congrats on her eggs! Are they getting bigger as she lays more? My pullets have always laid fairly small eggs at first which get bigger with time. Also, I've never had a pullet that molted before laying her first egg, nor one with any sort of spur development before POL. But maybe that's just me

Yeah she's an odd ball... She has the second biggest eggs out of our four hens! Our biggest eggs come from our black sex link!
