4-5 weeks old barred rock. Comb is turning red already and seems to be larger than the others we have around the same age.

I'm sorry :/ Cockerels do often end up being the most personable chicks too...

Curious....what are the definitive signs with these guys? I also thought BRs were sex linked.

My BR cockerel was my favorite too. I tried to keep him. He attacked our 5 year old and that was it

More white barring, comb turning red already, stance/legs

As day old, if the white spot in the head is larger it is indicative of a cockerel, but not always the case.
