I ordered 5 female chicks at the beginning of June and one just started crowing this week. I think it's a roo but I am in denial and am still hoping SHE's a pullet. SHE (fingers crossed) is 13 weeks old today (9/1/25). This is my first go at raising chicks but I have had 3 adult hens for a few years. Based on these pictures what do you think? And if it is a roo, do crow collars work? Thanks in advance.

I'm honestly not the greatest at sexing chickens, so I usually have to wait till they start laying for a 100% known gender. I will say, I did have one hen that was attempting to crow before I obtained a rooster. I have read that can happen, but I'm not sure of how common it is.
