Pullet self cannibalism

Instructions are usually on the label, but I would use a handful in one of the plastic dishpans that you can get at the dollar stores.
My label says:
2 cups in a warm bath(for human winter blues alleviation).
2 cups salt in 2 cups water for tired feet or as a wet topical compress.
2 cups salt in a gallon of water for bandages, compress, or soaking bath.
I won't post the laxative dosage :D
BTW have never used it for anything, just have it on hand for chickens in case.

I have seen the package dosage, but it always seems a little too much for a small dishpan. Using a lot for a bandage would be a little more concentrated than a soak, I think. 2 cups for human bath versus 2 cups for a gallon is not the same. When I bathed a horse’s hoof for 6 weeks (every day,) I used a cup and a half in a bucket with 3 gallons of water. My vet just said “put a lot into it.”

Wonders what do the salts actually do?
I would think a higher concentration would be better for shorter duration soaks,
but is there a 'too much' scenario?

Her preen gland looks good. I made a slot in the tape so she has access to it now. Thanks for pointing that out Eggcessive. Hopefully the saddle comes in soon and I can stop with the tape entirely. She does seem less bothered by the wounds after the bath. I'll do the pine tar on her tomorrow and on all their feet and see how that goes. That stuff smells awful! Thanks for all your help! :)
