Pullet-Shut Automatic Chicken Door - Excellent Quality

After 4 years of opening and shutting our chicken coop door by hand, I finally bit the bullet and purchased an automatic chicken door. I did my research and decided to go with the Pullet-Shut ACD from chickendoors.com. I ordered it on Monday (spoke with Mark) and it came in yesterday (Wednesday). I wanted to post some pics and brag on the serious quality of the door and it's parts. It is obvious the inventors of this door put some thought into the best way to make it and also used the best quality of materials. We are going to install it today and we are excited about how easy it appears to be. I will come back on here later to give an update as to how well it is working. Thanks for posting. I looked at the details on it this week. I had some reservations about using the dawn to dusk option and I wasn't comfortable with how the timed opening and closing thing worked.
There are so many vicious predators salivating to eat chicken at dusk here.

Okay. One of the neatest things I have ever installed anywhere. I will admit, it was terribly easy and fun to install, however, I had to cut out and create a new panel to mount it on cause the original hole in the coop was too small and some of the wall studs were in the way. I think all in all, I spent around 3 hours from start to finish. The girls were terribly nosey while I was working around them and one or two of them grabbed a small piece or two out of my box and I had to chase them down to retrieve it. I'm pretty sure I heard one of the girls say under her bock, "is he going to install a doorbell also???"

For the Record - I absolutely love our Pullet-Shut Automatic Chicken Door. Works perfectly and was easy to install. Would highly recommend it to anyone considering an automatic door. Money well spent!!

I have these doors on all my coops! I LOVE THEM! They are insanely reliable and I love the safety feature where they open back up after shutting to let the stragglers in the coop.

Agree. I have one on my coop and it is awesome. You can also set delays to the dawn or dusk operation by simply changing the dip switch settings inside.

I also love my Pullet-Shut door. It's been working great (knocking on wood) for a year now.
