Pullet Sneezing. Worse than I think.

I've been watching this as I also have a chick who is sneezing and rasping when breathing anytime she is picked up. I do not think I could inject her as she is only 6-8 days old. Though I am suspecting that mine has inhaled some water or is bothered by the bedding dust as she is very energetic and lively despite the sneezing and it came on very suddenly. I am giving her vitamin drops in food and water so maybe it will be a boost to her immune system to overcome an infection or possible infection as she had a very bad trip being delivered, and will begin treating her with ornacycline if it continues for more than 24 hours. Please keep posting updates IrishAcreFarm and cluckcluckluke.

Yeah after any trauma that my chicks go through I always give them ACV and natural Yoghurt

. But I will start giving the AVC to them now!

VC is awesome, electrolytes and probiotics are good too and maybe some extra vitamins. If you can't get your hands on tylan, you may want to try terramycin. Its a tetracycline and can also help with respiratory problems. Its also just a powder that's added to their water so no injections :)

I am sorry that you had to type all those posts out and I can't even get the blasted stuff! You have been such a great help. Same with everyone else.
I shall see if I can get this stuff. Wish me luck!

No need to apologize! Hopefully we will find something you can get a hold of. Just ask your local feed stores if they have any tetracyclines to use for respiratory infections in poultry. Some stores call it other names besides just terramycin and that way you won't miss out on something else they may have. Also, poly vi sol (without iron) vitamins for infants are great to use for chicks. It might give her a little boost if she's not eating much. Same with the electrolytes and avc. Best wishes to you! I hope you find something!

Also try your local vet Luke. Most stock over the counter stuff or will sell you just x amount of doses which could be cheaper.

Just ring round we have some will sell over the counter to walk in customers but another that wants you to make a $66 appointment first.
