You know Aart, I'm thinking she may be a black easter egger, as she doesn't have the facial tufts of the Ameraucana..... Just looking at pictures on the internet.

She's a beautiful hen! Looks a lot like my Ameraucana x Light Brahma cross.

She looks otherwise healthy. I think she is just taking a break. Or hiding egg.....

Boy, her legs sure are dark........but you're right, no beard/muffs.
Who knows what she is??<shrug>

That's her in the background, Ameraucana hen x light brahma roo. Those are her sisters in the front. Feathered legs on all three. Cheek puffs on the white one, none on the black one.

Carlf. You are right, she does look a lot like your hen, but without the leg feathers. Her legs are actually lighter than they appear in the photos, with even some pink if you get her in the sun. From looking around on the web, it seems that any cross breed chicken that lays blue eggs is called an easter egger so I guess that is what she is.
Mind you, if she never lays another egg does she still qualify? Cheers.
