My 13 wk old pullet was attacked by dogs and seems to have either a broken or dislocated leg. It appears to be either at the fibula or the leg/shoulder joint. She doesn't seem to have any other injuries. The avian vet is out of the office for a few weeks so any advice is much appreciated. UPDATE - it seems most like a fracture high up on fibula

Do you mean the tibia?

It's a hard one to splint. Check out this splinting manual:

Thank you for the diagram. After a lot of palpitating, it seems to be a fractured femur. My husband used a t-shirt sleeve to immobize it.

My young rooster hurt a young hen yesterday. Thx for that diagram. It looks like her knee is dislocated I guess. Will take her to the vet and see. Hopefully I can keep her; she has just been laying around 4 months. Darn boys.

Well, her leg is broken up on the upper leg and also her "ankle" Darn rooster! She is only 9 months old. I am going to try to save her but it sure has been a pain in the rear so far.
